INGREDIENTS
Arnica
A well-loved member of the daisy family, arnica has been used as a healing herb since the Middle Ages. We prize it for its anti-inflammatory properties, and its ability to soothe and heal damaged skin.
Calendula
The petals of the calendula plant have been used for centuries for their anti-inflammatory and skin-healing properties. A natural antioxidant, it soothes and heals irritated skin.
Chamomile
A traditional medicinal plant, chamomile has long been used to aid sleep and ease anxiety. A powerful antioxidant, we use it to help regenerate the skin.
Flax
An historic Irish plant rich in oleic and linoleic acid, which are essential for healthy skin and hair. Flaxseed oil is excellent for treating blemished and scarred skin.
Seaweed
Our organic seaweed extract comes from serrated wrack, or fucus serratus, which is foraged locally on the Wild Atlantic Way. It contains a high level of vitamins and amino acids, which are known to improve skin elasticity and reduce inflammation.

HOW TO USE
Apply a small amount to the skin and gently rub in. For use on the face, hands and body as a rich, nourishing moisturiser, or as a topical remedy for dryness and other minor irritations. Reapply as needed throughout the day.
In the unlikely event of skin irritation, stop use and consult a practitioner.

At Modern Botany, we work with the belief that you should never need to use more than five or six key ingredients in one formulation. Less is more, and this is a key principle in the way we formulate.
Our focus has always been on skin health. I wanted to make toxic-free products which could be used by people with all skin types, including sensitive skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis – not to mention pregnant mums or customers with a lower immune system. It’s especially rewarding to hear from patients undergoing chemotherapy who say that our Oil is the only thing that they can use on their dry skin.
We try to make all of our products 'Cosmos Natural’, as a minimum benchmark; our products are always made in GMP or Good Manufacturing Practice facilities; and all our outsourced companies are ISO quality certified as standard. All our products are cruelty-free, with absolutely no animal testing, and are vegan-certified. We only use botanical and mineral extracts in our products. All Modern Botany products are 100% natural, safe to use and non-toxic and made of high quality and potent botanical ingredients.
In order to guarantee the highest quality and deliver innovative solutions, I run all the research and development processes in-house. Every time we develop a product, I thoroughly research any proposed ingredients. If it is on the CITES list of endangered species, we will not take it to market. For every ingredient we use, we have a process to check the marketability of that species: whether it is a commonly known ingredient; whether it needs more research before we can use it; the socio-economic impacts that particular species will have on its local environment. Our customer may not see it, but there’s a huge amount of work that’s done before we even set foot in the laboratory.
